Call for papers and posters
Poster contributions are welcome for any of the sessions. Titles and abstracts (up to 150 words) should be submitted by 20th February 2009 using the correct online form. Note: posters should be in portrait format. An ALTER-Net poster template is available for use.
Conference Sessions 1 and 3 will consist of invited speakers. For Session 2 - Changing our thinking - there was a call for papers. The session will provide a forum for ideas that have emerged over recent years and have the potential to change the way we think about biodiversity and ecosystems research, policy, management or communication. We are interested in offers of oral papers and suggestions for alternative formats such as panel discussions. The deadline for paper abstracts (up to 300 words) was 10th January 2009. Abstracts should be submitted only through this website, using the correct online form.

Reimbursement of expenses
1. Delegates from ALTER-Net partner institutes
A single payment will be made to each partner institute to cover the costs of travel to the conference of all its delegates, as well as any additional reasonable expenses. Therefore, you should claim reimbursement of expenses from your employer and NOT from the ALTER-Net Coordination team.
Hotel bills at the hotels selected for use by conference delegates will be paid centrally, so you will not need to pay these yourself. Please see note [3] below about valid dates.
2. Delegates from non-ALTER-Net partners
A case for ALTER-Net support should be made at the time of registration (using the 'Comments' field of the registration form). If accepted then, provided you use one of the hotels selected for the conference, your hotel accommodation will be paid centrally. Please see note [3] below about valid dates. We regret we are unable to cover travel and subsistence costs.
3. All delegates - Valid dates for hotel accommodation
Please note that ALTER-Net will pay for your accommodation from March 3 to 6 inclusive. In addition, if you are attending one of the extra meetings on Tuesday 3 March and need to stay overnight on Monday 2 March, ALTER-Net will also cover this night's accommodation cost. If you stay any additional nights you will need to pay for these yourself and claim the costs from your employer, not from ALTER-Net.
