Communicating science to the public (for NERC-funded students and researchers)
Start date: 10 Nov 2009 13:42:00
End date: 27 Jun 2011 13:42:00

Are you a NERC student or do NERC fund your scientific research? If so, you are eligible for free training in science communication skills. This is a great way to learn how to promote your research findings and ideas to wide audiences. Come along and learn the tips and techniques to do this with style and panache!

NERC (The UK's Natural Environment Research Council) runs six of these a year at its office in Swindon. You learn, through hands-on sessions run by top journalists, how:

the media works
to write effectively
to do radio interviews
to engage in dialogue with the public
