The conference is organised by the Masaryk University in cooperation with IFIP, the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic, the European Commission and the European Environment Agency.

The conference will display the state-of-the-art in the development and implementation environmental information systems and environment services, with a special focus on the following topics:

  • eEnvironment and cross-border services in the Digital Agenda for Europe (chair session Jiri Hrebicek)
  • Environmental Information Systems and Services - Infrastructures and Platforms (chair session Arne Berre)
  • Semantics and Environment (chair session Gerald Schimak)
  • Distributed Environmental Modelling (chair session David Swayne)
  • Information Tools for Global Environmental Assessment (chair session Ivan Holoubek and Ladislav Dusek)
  • Advanced Approaches to Catchment Hydrology Simulation (chair session Ralf Denzer)
  • Climate services and environmental tools for urban planning (chair Lars Gidhagen)

The conference is a meeting place for experts on leading edge technologies, and it aims to foster the standardization and integration of environmental data and information flows in the world, which are essential pre-requirements for managing our natural resources in a framework of sustainable development. The ISESS 2011 conference is open to governmental institutions, international and intergovernmental organisations, environmental agencies and networks, scientists, academicians, politicians, businesses, public administration and decision makers in the field of environmental information, experts from ICT industry, specialists of theoretical and applied informatics, consultants, students and the concerned public.

  • January 15, 2011: Deadline for abstracts
  • February 15, 2011: Notification of abstract acceptance
  • March 15, 2011: Deadline for papers
  • April 15, 2011: Notification of paper acceptance
  • April 15, 2011: Announcement of preliminary programme
  • April 20, 2011: Registration - early rate deadline
  • May 31, 2011: Camera ready submission of papers
  • June 15, 2011: Publication of detailed programme
  • June 20, 2011: Registration - late rate deadline
  • June 27-29, 2011: Conference ISESS 2011
