This bianual conference of the IUFRO Landscape Ecology Working Party will be held in Concepción Chile, between 5th and 12th November. This will be the first time that the Working Group will gather in Latin America.

Latin America offers new challenges to Forest Landscape Ecology due to its tremendous heterogeneity of ecosystems and diverse socio-economic conditions. South American forests represent a large fraction of the world’s biodiversity and, in turn, are characterised by progressive deforestation and degradation. Particularly, Chile’s forest landscapes face substancial changes and play a significant role in sustaining humans.

Please note: submissions are invited for papers, with a deadline of 15 December. See the conference website for more information.
