ALTER-Net contributes to French LTER network conference

News of a conference with ALTER-Net member involvement

Back in October, the French ALTER-Net partner CNRS organised the first LTER-France conference in Rennes. The conference drew more than 50 participants from various organizations of France to communicate and plan future collaboration. The programme included plenary presentations on the state-of-art of problem-oriented long-term ecological and socio-ecological research with experiences from other countries (Eeva Furman, Finland, Steve Pennings, Morgan Grove and Scott Collins, USA). It also featured poster sessions and workshop-type discussions on the French Zone Ateliers network, the French LTER sites.

ALTER-Net was allocated a plenary presentation during the 1st day which was followed by some fruitful discussions in the following conference days. For more information see: http://www.za-inee.org/colloque2011/spip.php?rubrique2&lang=en.

ALTER-Net actively supports the development of LTER and LTSER activities in Europe (find out more here), and was pleased to be present at the conference.
