The Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological diversity invites Parties, other Governments and relevant United Nations, inter-governmental, non-governmental, regional and international organizations, indigenous and local communities, and the private sector to contribute posters and extended abstracts on case studies and best practices on how climate change and biodiversity can be mutually supportive in achieving the climate change agreement and the new strategic plan of the Convention on Biological Diversity.
The theme of the poster session for the fourteenth meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical, and Technological Advice (SBSTTA) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), to be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 10 to 21 May 2010, is: “Biodiversity and Climate Change: Achieving the 2020 Targets”.
Contributors are encouraged to relate their topics to one of the goals of the draft strategic plan. Please indicate your intention to present a poster paper by completing and returning the form referred to in the notification by fax or email at your earliest convenience, but no later than 12 March 2010. Upon receipt of your form, we will be pleased to forward detailed guidelines for posters and extended abstracts. Note that there will be a limit to the number of posters to be presented. Submission of posters and abstracts is not restricted to meeting participants.
The Secretariat of the CBD plans to publish the extended abstracts of the posters in its Technical Series. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is 31 March 2010.
