Joint European Conference held by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) and the European Network of Heads of Nature Conservation Agencies (ENCA).
This conference will bring together experts from practice, policy and science across Europe. The programme is interdisciplinary and includes key note presentations from Jacqueline McGlade, outgoing director of the European Environment Agency, Hartmut Grassl, Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, Chris Thomas, University of York, Katrin Böhning-Gaese, Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre (BiK-F), Micheal O’Briain, DG Environment, European Commission, and others.
During the meeting speakers and participants will highlight and debate the importance of adapting to climate change in conservation from an ecological, policy and economic perspective, and showcase successful conservation partnerships across Europe. Discussions at the conference will lead to recommendations for climate change-adapted nature conservation in Europe.
Excellent networking opportunities include a free evening reception and a conference dinner.
